A Draft Recreation Master Plan has been developed by Queensland Water Infrastructure Pty Ltd (QWI) and is now open for public comment until Wednesday July 22nd.

Making Connections Conference
With only just over three weeks left until Making Connections, we wanted to ensure you were well aware that this event is designed for the wider outdoor industry and has three streams: Strategy, Operations & Camps Management. Each of these streams offer quality presentations and learnings. In addition, specifically for Queenslanders and those with ties to the Qld landscape and population, we are also holding a State Summit on the afternoon of Saturday August 1st.

The Queensland Summit is designed to give those people who engage with the QLD outdoor industry, or are impacted by it, the chance to:
a) learn about recent and future changes relevant to our industry;
b) develop skills in how to create and respond to change positively (workshop); and
c) interact with an expert panel discussing opportunities, issues and pathways forward.
Panel members are yet to be finalised but will include - Rob Hales (Griffith University - researcher for SEQ Recreation Demand Study, 2007); Catherine Clark (Consultant); Dave Batt (Department of Infrastructure and Planning, SEQ Outdoor Recreation Strategy); Michael Chapman/ Dean Patterson (Delfin Lend Lease).
We would encourage you to consider being part of the whole conference and this session, contributing your thoughts and engaging with others on how the Qld outdoor industry in all its guises can move forward and grow into the future; as well as take advantage of emerging opportunities.
We also now have an updated Making Connections Programme available for download from the QORF website. Additions include Keynote Speaker Bio's, presentation synopses and an overview of Sundays workshops and field trips.
